In 2006-2007 academic year, 768 children in Hancock County took the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment -Literacy (KRA-L) test with an average score of 21.29, which is almost 2 points higher than the average score across the state (19.8).

The only individual school district where the test-takers scored below the state average was the City of Findlay (19.289). The same district had the largest number of children taking the test: 426 students.

Van Buren district had the highest average score at 22.84, while Arlington Local district had the highest percentage of test-takers who score 24 and higher (67.44%).
