In 2007, students in Hancock County had average passage rates of 90.4%, 88.7%, and 85.4% on Ohio Graduation Rates for reading, math, and science respectively compared with 83.9%, 77.2%, and 83.6% for students statewide.
The students of two schools – Van Buren and Arlington Local – stood out in their achievements. Van Buren High School students had the highest rates in reading (95%), writing (96.3%), and social sciences (92.5%). Arlington Local High School students had the highest rate in math (93.8%) and science (91.7%).
Findlay High School students passed OGT as follows: 90.7%, 83.5%, and 80.7% in reading, math, and science respectively.
In 2006-2007, female students in Hancock County performed consistently better on OGT than male students: 92.7% versus 89.1% in reading, 89.5% versus 88.3% in math, and 88.7% versus 86.4% in science respectively.
