In 2007, the median household income for Hancock County residents was $48,567 while the median family income was $55,733.

The median household income of Hancock County residents consistently approximates the state of Ohio median household income. The same was true for the median family income until, in 2007, the state median family income exhibited a 3.9% rise while the county median income dropped 4.1%.

There is a significant gap between median household and median family incomes with the latter being on average $10,000 higher than the former. This indicates that, in Hancock County, households frequently include an immediate family as well as close relatives, who are either not working or are employed part-time.

In 2007, 31% families in Hancock County reported income of $25,000-$50,000 per year, 38.4% had income of $50,000-$100,000, and 18.1% reported having more than $100,000 in family income. The respective percentage of households falling into these income categories was 29.3%, 34.7%, and 14.1%.
