Hancock County's population increased by 5,759 (8.79%) residents between 1990 and 2000 and added an additional 2,909 (4.08%) residents since 2000, which is 40% less than the average nationwide population growth but almost double the average population gain for the State of Ohio during the respective years.
The population of Liberty Township of Hancock County increased 32.81% from 1990 to 2000, which is at least three times more than the population increase in any other location within Hancock County. Jackson Township was the second fastest growing community in Hancock County with the 9.17% increase in the population during the same period, 1990-2000. The City of Findlay ran the third with 9.14% population gain.
